A Nikon D40 would be nice — it’s the cheapest DSLR around. It’s still too expensive though, probably. I can afford it right now, but certainly at some point down the road I will wish I had not spent that money.
I’ve been without a camera for a year, and while it hasn’t hurt me I have still found myself wishing I had one every now and then. I would like to be a person who takes good pictures. But one cannot become that person without picking up a camera and practising. So I would like to buy a camera.
I don’t think I’d have anything to take pictures of, though. I don’t hang around with people very often, and when I do — Abby, for instance — they don’t like having pictures taken. I remember Heather telling me that I should do something like the Protestards shoots a couple of times a day. That was good advice. She was telling me to constantly create things.
I don’t know that there is much around here that I’m interested in photographing. I’m sure Southampton is well documented, and I don’t have any emotional connection to strangers so there’s no use taking pictures of them. Would I have to seek out fun events to go to and document? I suppose.
I will probably buy a camera.
